Sometimes there is a long, curvy road that leads you right where you meant to be even though it wasn't your chosen career path. Trish learned to sew and quilt from her mother, Beverly, who is an active member of Golden Needles Quilt Guild in Conroe, Texas providing comfort quilts to local people in need. Learning to sew and quilt while providing a much needed comfort item for someone who is going through a difficult time in their life is something that is quite satisfying and it helps improve your skills. During this time, Trish was a local Realtor in Montgomery County, Texas from 2004 until her world took a drastic turn.
In May, 2014 she was diagnosed with Stage IIB Invasive Mammory Carcinoma. Her focus became survival and over the next year and a half she felt that she had lost her creativity during her treatments. What she did not know is what would come out of such a devastating period. Her mother encouraged her to again participate in things she had once enjoyed and she began to sew and create again. She found that through a hobby there are kindred spirits and that it can truly be therapy as everyone has a story and a reason as to why they enjoy crafting, sewing or quilting.
After leading workshops, groups and speaking at Guilds, she had a dream of opening her own shop. Starting small, she traveled to Guild shows and events around the State, continued to speak to groups and lead workshops. Trish believes that her hardships and challenges brought her to where she is today. Her energy and enthusiasm can be felt when you enter the shop. It is a happy place full of inspiration and all are welcome no matter of skill level.
